Summary	This project is a continuous research for the project of "The Study of Intelligent Vehicle for Highway Safety Inspection (I) － Understanding the Current Development of this Technology and Its Applicability." Its purpose is to develop a future application framework of the intelligent vehicle for highway safety inspection which satisfies the needs of the domestic highway administrations. The study is expected to provide concrete suggestions for the establishment of an automatic and reasonable highway maintenance system. By using the intelligent vehicle, the probability of accidents caused by problems in traffic engineering can be reduced. Since this technology does not yet have any domestic application experience, this study started out with the analysis of the experience in foreign countries. By means of the application surveys of related domestic highway administrations, the possible frameworks and models to apply the intelligent vehicle system in this country for the future were studied. The application scope, the application framework, as well as the application promotion strategies have been studied carefully in this report. The results can be valuable for domestic highway administrations while intending to practically apply this technology.
